Our Privacy Guarantee: PauseGate operates with a strict, on-device, offline architecture. We do NOT collect, transmit, sell, or monetize your personal identity, messages, screen content, or browsing history.
1. Zero Personal Data Collection
PauseGate does not require account creation, sign-in, email addresses, or phone numbers. All custom routines, blocked app preferences, and focus statistics are computed and saved exclusively on your local Android device.
2. Android Accessibility Service API Usage
PauseGate utilizes Android's AccessibilityService API solely to deliver its core functionality:
- Purpose: To detect when a user launches an application selected on their distraction blocklist.
- Action: Displays a mindful 5-to-30-second breathing friction overlay before the target app opens.
- Strict Privacy: PauseGate never reads screen content (
android:canRetrieveWindowContent is permanently set to false), does not track keystrokes, and transmits zero data off your device.
3. App Usage Statistics (PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS)
With your explicit permission, PauseGate accesses Android's native UsageStatsManager to display daily screen time and open counts on the Analytics screen. This data is computed 100% on-device and is never uploaded anywhere.
4. Third-Party Services
- Google Play Billing: In-app purchases (Lifetime Pro) are processed securely through Google Play. We do not store or handle payment information.
- Google AdMob: Optional rewarded video ads for 24h passes are served by Google AdMob, which may collect pseudonymous device identifiers in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy.
